Housed within the Academic Success Center, the Office of Student Accessibility and Academic Support at The University of Tampa has an opening for an Academic Program Specialist for Student Accessibility Services. This position will be responsible for duties related to Student Accessibility Services and will report to the Director of the Office of Student Accessibility and Academic Support. Responsibilities include working with students with documented disabilities to create accommodation plans, reviewing documentation, conducting welcome meetings, case management for undergraduate and graduate students, providing one-on-one academic support, training university stakeholders on accommodations and compliance with ADA and Section 504, assisting with accommodated examinations, creating and implementing student workshops, tracking and reporting data, supporting the Director and office operations, teaching one section each fall and spring semester of ASK 100 and possibly First-Year Seminar courses, and contributing to an inclusive work environment. Qualifications require a Master’s Degree in education or related discipline, knowledge of ADA, Section 504, Fair Housing Act, FERPA, at least two years of professional experience with individuals with disabilities (preferably in higher education), teaching experience preferred, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively, occasional nights or weekends availability, and proficiency with MS Office and relevant software.
