Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable and Collections Manager will oversee the accounts receivable (AR) department, managing a team of AR specialists while also actively participating in collections efforts. This role is responsible for ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and minimizing delinquent accounts through proactive collection strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Accounts Receivable Specialists, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
Oversee the full accounts receivable process, including billing, payment posting, and account reconciliation.
Conduct collections calls to delinquent accounts to secure payments and maintain positive customer relationships.
Develop and implement effective collections strategies to reduce aged receivables.
Monitor AR aging reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing disputes and enhance customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Prepare and present AR performance reports and metrics to management.
Work experience requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3+ years of experience in accounts receivable and collections, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of AR processes, collections strategies, and accounting principles.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Ability to lead a team while managing personal collections responsibilities.
