Hiring a tree climber (employee or contract) to climb trees utilizing proper climbing gear as required. This position is also responsible for assisting in ensuring workplace safety with consistent and fair application. Proof of Workers Compensation policy required.

Essential Duties:

• Ability to climb trees using rigging techniques & utilizing lift equipment to safely take down trees.
• Trimming large & small trees.
• Safely removing unwanted, dead or damaged trees.
• Monitoring and maintaining plant health.
• Maintains adherence to safe and good practices following OSHA specifications.
• Work with ownership regarding safe and efficient practices for trimming and tree removal.
• Evaluates and safeguards team members and public from hazards in and around the work area. Sets up warning signs, flags, barriers, etc.
• Possess ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds.

Requirements:

• Prior related experience with a tree service company or department.
• Knowledge of established tree industry hazards, standards, practices, procedures and techniques.
• Attention to detail.
• Problem solving skills with excellent leadership skills and be able to handle stressful situations along with being able to multi-task.
• Organizational skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Meet physical requirements for position.
• Pass all drug and alcohol screenings as required by company policy and if applicable required by DOT regulations.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred:

• CDL a plus (Class B)
• ISA Arborist Certification or other applicable certifications
• Qualified or obtain a DOT Medical Certification
