Job Summary :
Provides clerical and financial support toward the goal of preserving the health and independence of clients in their home setting.
Responsibilities:
o Evaluate on both the front and back end consolidated billing process and queue claims for insurance billing. Track timeliness of the billing cycle and review remits to maximize appropriate reimbursement.
o Troubleshoot, identify and resolve claims issues, using a team approach with staff from third party billing company. Initiate appeals when applicable.
o Manages physician referrals, computer entry of registration and scanning of Home Health patient documents.
o Handles insurance verification, ongoing eligibility, and preauthorization of accounts.
o Attention to detail, strong decision making skills and dependability are necessary to maintain accurate monthly reports, reconcile visit totals, input concise data entry and follow up of charges.
o Composes reports as needed on Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook. Extensive use of Home Health/hospital patient and financial computer systems while at all times, maintaining confidentiality.
o Performs all functions according to the established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Petersburg Medical Center with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our Guiding Values and Code of Conduct. Presents hospital and Home Health Agency in a positive manner.
o Supply ordering and storage organization and updating of the item master when needed.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Patient care is always first. With this in mind, the Home Health Reception/Admissions Representative/Billing Coordinator must possess the ability to work and manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously. Must have excellent communication skills with a team approach to success, flexibility and perform clerical and billing functions in a concise manner and requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Education: Must be able to utilize computer programs as a daily function.
o High school diploma or equivalent, with some college preferred.

Working Conditions:
o Physical Requirements : Moderate to heavy lifting (no greater than 50 pounds) standing, walking, and handling of clients, equipment and supplies.
o Environment : Variable. Office work, small workplace office, computer, printer, scanner.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Reports to the Clerical Lead and Home Health Manager.
