Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies welcomes nearly 14,000 babies each year, and the hospitals 350 beds include 142 neonatal intensive care beds, making it one of the largest neonatal intensive care units under one roof in the country.

This full-time position is an important part of a team of twelve chaplains working between the two hospitals. We have 24/7 in-house chaplain coverage, and this position is for 2 nd shift , which is typically coverage between 2pm and 10:30pm. Some examples of care: this chaplain will provide spiritual care to children who arrive through our trauma center, are treated in our oncology unit or need surgery or other treatments. There are also the expectant mothers on our antepartum floor, our postpartum families and neonatal babies and our bereaved families when pregnancy fails.

Our preference at this time is for a Spanish-speaking Chaplain.

Essential Functions
Requires direct access to Protected Health Information (PHI). The PHI accessed is used for patient treatment, and healthcare operations purposes through direct contact with patients, family members, patients medical records/charts, computer applications,
and verbal reports from healthcare providers, and interaction with various hospital interdisciplinary team members.
Documents interventions on the patient chart, including, but not limited to such information as referral source, spiritual assessments, interventions, and follow-up/referral plan.
Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary clinical team, participating in patient rounds, case reviews, ethics consultations, and advanced directive consults.
Provides crisis intervention and bereavement support for persons experiencing suffering, tragedy, or loss.

Education/Training

• Master level theological degree is required, with a Master of Divinity being the preferred degree. Master level equivalent theological degrees may be considered.
• Accreditation by the Association of Theological Schools preferred or a listing in The Database of Postsecondary Institutions and Programs (ope.ed.gov/dapip/)
• Four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education for full time, two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education for part-time, one (1) unit of Clinical Pastoral Education for pool. All units must be recognized by ACPE, APC, NACC, NAJC, CPSP, CPE-I, or ICPT.

Licensure/Certification
Ordination, licensure, or commissioning and endorsement as a chaplain by a religious body listed in the US Defense Department list of Recognized Religions.

Experience
Active spiritual faith demonstrated.
