Community Action Partnership of Mercer County is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. This individual will hold at minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, preferably with an MA/MBA. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of the organization, ensuring clear/concise financial management, and driving growth through strategic planning and analysis. This position requires a strong leader with extensive experience in corporate finance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial concepts and be adept a navigating complex financial landscapes. The CFO is responsible for overseeing a $14 million dollar plus budget and assuring all expenses are paid in a timely manner including local, state, and federal taxes. The CFO is responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to the funding sources. The CFO will prepare program budget and will work with the Auditor and prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors.

Duties:

  • Oversee the creation and implementation of annual budgets, goals and objectives.
  • Provide overall administration of the day to day financial affairs of the the corporation.
  • Plans, develops and establishes polices and objectives of the fiscal department in accordance with board of directors, mission statement and funding source requirement.
  • Review activity reports and financial statements to determine current progress and status in attaining objectives and reviews objectives and plans to address current financial conditions.
  • Evaluates performance and contributions of key staff both in compliance with established policies and objectives of agency in attaining administrative objectives.
  • Assist program Director(s) in developing procedures and systems to monitor and evaluate their program's financial position.
  • Reviews and analyzes programmatic reports, cost projections and operations reports to determine progress or changes in goals or objectives as needed or requireed.
  • Provides training and technical assistance to the Program Directors and Board of Directors.
  • Establish and maintains relationships with public and private sources of funding, including government, grant sources as well as corporate or private foundations.
  • Responsible for the hiring evaluation, firing and promotion of the staff within finance department.
  • Oversee a staff of 5 individuals.
  • Keeps current on program regulations, requirements and funding provisions.
  • Understand the Financial Software and keep current on revisions.
  • Monitor investments and make recommendations on reserves and resources to generate passive income.
  • Create date-base long and short term goals, budgets and forecasts.
  • Build relationships with banks, donors., vendors, and funding sources.
