The CFO plans, organizes, directs, and controls all activities related to financial reporting, financial strategy, and treasury matters. This key individual contributes to planning, management, and contract negotiations. The CFO is responsible for the overall budget process, accounting and reporting, reimbursement, long-term capital financing, fiscal controls, compliance to laws, regulations, and quality improvement processes in financial management functions. This position manages Health Information Management, the Revenue Cycle (admitting, claims, collections, contract negotiations and the Chargemaster), and the Purchasing/Central Supply departments.

Education/Experience:

  • An experienced leader and financial executive with healthcare industry experience that includes a minimum of 5 years of financial management experience, including a minimum of 3 years in hospital financial management with oversight of the revenue cycle, health information management, purchasing and inventory management and finance functions.
  • CPA required, Masters degree preferred
  • CFO experience required
  • Professional level knowledge of accounting, finance, treasury, reimbursement, budgeting, credit and collection as relates to healthcare.
  • Knowledge of an A133 Audit
  • Knowledge of Corporate Taxation
  • Experience in IHS 638

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures monthly financial statements are completed promptly and accurately.
  • Ensures that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and in compliance with company policies and standards and that any outstanding variances are identified and corrected promptly.
  • Prepares corporate required reports (including the Monthly Operating Report, Forecasts) timely and accurately.
  • Directs the operations of the Revenue Cycle to ensure that accounts receivable is collected timely and uncompensated care is kept to a minimum. Strives to achieve goals for cash collections and AR days and to reduce bad debt and denials. Routinely reviews revenue cycle metrics to proactively identify and address issues affecting the over.
  • Is actively involved in ensuring Front End Revenue Cycle processes are in place including ensuring the insurance verification is completed on 100% of patients, working with the Financial Counselor to ensure proper determination of patient portions and approval of any discounts or charity and proper logging of upfront collections.
  • Supervises Accounting, Patient Accounting, Health Information Management, and any other departments assigned by the CEO.
  • Prepares annual capital budgets and Capital Equipment Requests. Ensures assets and related depreciation is recorded accurately and in compliance with company policies.
  • Provides financial leadership and guidance to facility managers. Trains managers on financial matters and provides routine feedback regarding department performance
  • Maintains current knowledge of healthcare industry trends and changes and ensures the facility is prepared and in compliance

Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Hours may vary with additional work hours as needed)
