Job Description

This role involves designing, planning, and integrating cloud computing and virtualization systems to meet business needs. The Cloud Architect will provide expertise in hardware and software selection, evaluate cloud service providers and deployment models, and develop application and data migration strategies. This position requires maintaining current knowledge of industry standards and emerging technologies, as well as architecting and configuring cloud solutions using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models. Responsibilities also include implementing and overseeing automation and virtualization, supporting virtual infrastructure, enabling self-provisioning, and evaluating new technologies to improve service capabilities.

Responsibilities:

- Design, plan, and integrate cloud computing and virtualization systems.
- Provide expertise in hardware and software selection for cloud solutions.
- Evaluate and select appropriate cloud service providers and deployment models.
- Develop and implement application and data migration strategies and tools.
- Ensure solutions address both current and future capacity needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and emerging cloud technologies.
- Architect and configure cloud solutions using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
- Implement and oversee automation, virtualization (hypervisors, containers), and virtual infrastructure management.
- Support virtual compute, storage, network design, and scaling.
- Enable self-provisioning and efficient resource management in cloud environments.
- Evaluate and report on new cloud and virtualization technologies.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Extensive experience in cloud computing architecture and implementation.
- Expertise in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (hypervisors, containers).
- Proficiency in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions.
- Knowledge of networking and security best practices in cloud environments.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
- Experience with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
