Job Description

Z SUPPLY is an established California Women’s lifestyle apparel brand that is leading the space for casual, comfortable style. Located in the heart of Orange County, we are passionate about staying true to our roots and living a life of good vibes in and out of the office.

The Copywriter is an experienced and talented copywriter with the ability to adapt to our brand voice in order to write and edit e-commerce and marketing materials that support a growing DTC and B2B business and resonate with our target audience. This position requires a creative thinker who has a passion for crafting compelling content and staying up-to-date on trends and a proven track record for high-performing copy. The ideal candidate has a strong love for fashion and shopping, highly motivated to take a hands-on approach to product and fabrics when writing copy. This position will work cross-functionally and play a key role in strengthening our brand identity and positioning.

  • Position Location – Headquarters, Costa Mesa, CA
  • Hybrid Schedule – 3-4 Days In Office / 1-2 Days Remote

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including M&D, production, sales, creative, marketing, e-commerce, and digital wholesale to develop content and maintain accuracy and consistency
  • Own our seasonal copy master documents, translating technical product specifications and design elements into consumer-friendly, benefits-driven copy
  • Write and edit high-converting, on-brand product descriptions for a wide range of SKUs across e-commerce platforms
  • Optimize meta descriptions and SEO content, incorporating keywords effectively while maintaining readability
  • Write and edit creative and impactful copy with strong hooks across wholesale and e-commerce marketing channels (e.g. web, blog, email, paid ad, organic social, print)
  • Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, clarity, tone, style, and product accuracy, ensuring that our messaging is effective for our target audience
  • Conduct website spot checks to ensure all information is uploaded correctly and translated as intended
  • Analyze and interpret data to determine appropriate syntax, style, and grammatical usage required for various documents
  • A/B test, hindsight different copy approaches, and apply insights to refine messaging
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product and conduct research on SEO, trending topics, target audiences, and competitors to maintain industry best practices and trends
  • Partner with the Senior Marketing Copywriter on content strategy and to effectively organize, prioritize, and complete copywriting tasks in a timely manner

Qualifications, Experience And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
  • 2-4 years of copywriting experience within the fashion industry
  • Strong understanding of persuasive writing, buyer psychology, and SEO and digital marketing fundamentals
  • Strong writing skills, including spelling and grammar
  • Experience with DTC e-commerce copywriting required, B2B a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Apps required, including Excel/Sheets
  • Experience with Asana and Figma a plus
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills that works well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organization and project management skills with careful attention to detail and flexibility to switch between multiple projects
  • Creative thinker and up to date on emerging trends

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is currently operating as 3-4 days in office / partial remote position. Work is conducted in an air-conditioned office environment or at home office. Frequent use of hands, eyes, speech utilizing computer and work-related equipment. Frequent sitting, occasional standing / dexterity.

Position Salary Range $70,000-80,000

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Z SUPPLY provides a range of compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. To determine starting pay within the hiring range, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, role/level, a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, internal parity and other relevant factors. Flexibility outside of the salary range listed may be considered based on additional skills or qualifications a candidate may possess that may justify additional compensation. Company paid health benefits, PTO, bonus and other various company perks are not included in the salary range listed above and are considered additional compensation.
