We are partnering with a consumer product company seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team. As a key member of their finance team, you'll play a vital role in managing accounting and analysis related to purchasing, inventory, disbursements, and cost of goods. Their mission is to provide top-tier products while promoting eco-friendly practices. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $95,000 to $105,000 per year.


Job Descriptions:

• Perform monthly reconciliation between inventory subledger and general ledger.'
  
  
• Calculate and maintain standard costs for overhead components.
  
  
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  
  
• Handle reserves for excess, discontinued, and obsolete inventory.
  
  
• Validate and record results of periodic inventory cycle counts.
  
  
• Collaborate with product development and supply chain teams to analyze cost, pricing, and margins for new inventory items.
  
  
• Develop and maintain pricing analysis models based on cost data.
  
  
• Analyze margins at month-end, focusing on cost changes, product mix shifts, and customer variations.
  
  
• Contribute to annual budgeting and semiannual reforecasting.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  
  
• 5-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in the consumer product or retail industry.
  
  
• Familiarity with Great Plains ERP system (a plus).
  
  
• Proficient in Excel (including pivot tables and V-lookups) and other MS Office applications.
