Director of Payor Contracting The Director of Payor Contracting is responsible for overseeing all contracts and contract administration, performed by the Payor Contracting team. The Director of Payor Contracting will utilize a strong knowledge of business procedures to actively manage the Contracting department. This individual consults with the Accounts Receivable department on contracting needs, and works closely with various internal departments such as Account Management, Business Operations, Finance and Legal. This is a remote position. Essential Functions: Oversees organizational contract development and management activities, and enforces organizational principles of integrity and compliance. Reviews Accounts Receivable revenue and determines areas of need for new or updated insurance contracts. Research and determine ownership and affiliations of insurance companies. Build and maintain relationships with insurance company contractors. Make recommendations for pursuing new or updated contracts. Approve standards for contracts, including presentation of payment terms, general language and provisions, as developed by the Manager. Develop guidance for department on negotiation strategies that minimize potential losses and benefit the organization’s financial performance. Identifies opportunities to create efficiencies and add value to the Contracting team, initiates process changes to improve and streamline where necessary. Manages large-scale projects in support of department and company initiatives. Assist staff in developing contract negotiations skills and assist in negotiations when necessary. Oversee and monitor completion of contracts by the Contracting team, and provide final approval on completed contracts. Review contracts and applications for accuracy and provide resolution for any questions. Performs additional tasks, duties and projects as requested. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has overall supervisory responsibility for staff members in the Payor Contracting department. The Director monitors and manages the overall performance of staff members, including disciplinary action, performance reviews, annual increases, and promotions. The Director conducts interviews of new staff members, makes employment offers, and negotiates salaries. Position Type, Expected Hours of Work & Travel: This is a Full Time position. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Hours of work may vary based on business needs. Travel may be required, based on business need. Travel may be outside the local area and overnight. Required Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration required; Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 7-10 years of contracting experience within the healthcare industry. 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to train and develop staff, applying applicable knowledge and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications required. Ability to work with and maintain sensitive and confidential information required. Ability to utilize tactful and professional written and oral communication.
