Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing and Distribution Manager with expertise in contract blending and packaging operations. In this role, you will oversee blending, packaging, inventory management, warehousing, shipping, and receiving functions to ensure operational efficiency and the highest quality standards. Your leadership will play a critical role in optimizing processes and meeting production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Blending and Packaging Operations:

  • Manage daily blending and packaging operations, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee the development of production schedules to meet contract deadlines and maintain efficiency.
  • Collaborate with R&D and quality control teams to refine blending formulas and packaging processes.
  • Ensure the proper handling and storage of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance blending accuracy, minimize waste, and optimize packaging workflows.

Distribution, Shipping, and Receiving:

  • Oversee all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and documentation of incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Manage the scheduling and coordination of shipments to meet customer deadlines and maximize efficiency.
  • Conduct inspections of received goods to verify quality and quantity against purchase orders and address any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, including packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.
  • Work with carriers and freight partners to negotiate rates, track shipments, and resolve delivery issues.
  • Implement best practices to improve turnaround times for loading, unloading, and processing shipments.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving transactions and ensure inventory updates align with physical stock movements.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize space utilization and streamline material flow.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
  • Develop and implement efficient inventory tracking and forecasting processes.
  • Coordinate with purchasing teams to ensure timely restocking of materials based on production needs.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage teams across blending, packaging, warehousing, shipping, and receiving functions.
  • Provide ongoing training and development to enhance team performance and productivity.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Performance and Reporting:

  • Track and manage KPIs such as efficiency rates, quality control, first pass rates, order accuracy, production downtime, labor utilization, and waste reduction.
  • Monitor inventory turnover, stock accuracy, and average order processing times.
  • Analyze shipping metrics, including delivery lead times and shipment accuracy rates.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance to senior management.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract manufacturing, blending, packaging, shipping, and/or inventory management operations.
  • Proven track record in managing operations to meet high standards of quality and efficiency.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of blending, packaging, shipping, and receiving processes.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and ERP software.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and Odoo is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards for shipping and warehousing.
