Led by a superstar partner, this respected Trusts & Estates practice, representing celebrities, sports figures and other UHNW individuals in confidential and sophisticated matters, is seeking a sophisticated Counsel or Sr. Associate with 7-to-10 years of experience in a complex Trusts & Estates practice group of a larger firm. This exciting opportunity is a foundational career chapter circumstance to work with a savvy leader and top echelon clients of the firm.
The ideal candidate for this client facing role must have experience in estate tax planning, estate administration, drafting estate planning documents, and administering estates. An advanced understanding of how to prepare and review gift tax and estate tax returns, required. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing personalized legal advice and guidance on complex matters.
The Counsel will collaborate closely with others on drafting complex estate planning documents, estate administration documents, wills, trust administration documents and more. Experience with IRS and NYS estate tax return preparation and audits are also required. Experience with the formation and operation of private and public not for profit organizations preferred.
Subject matter expertise and the ability to work well with others are the primary drivers of consideration for this key role. JD degree required. Practice experience and bar admission in NY required. Compensation consists of a salary (270K-350K+), a solid bonus, accompanied by a robust benefits package.
