Senior Recruiter / Connector / Live Music Junkie

QTI Executive & Professional Search, Inc. is recruiting for an Executive Search and Recruiting Consultant due to an upcoming retirement. You will serve in a dual role: supporting and leading full lifecycle recruitment across professional, technical, management and executive-level searches, while also serving as a trusted advisor for board-led and senior leadership engagements. You will manage the search process from inception through hiring decisions, often working with multiple decision-makers such as non-profit Boards of Directors or Search Committees.

Success in this role depends on strong operational discipline, exceptional written and verbal communication, a confidential and caring approach to candidates and clients, and the ability to manage complex, multi-step search logistics with multiple stakeholders.

Location: Madison, Wisconsin. Hybrid with expectation to be available for occasional in-office meetings and local/community events.

Executive Search Leadership

  • Partner with Boards of Directors, Search Committees, and executive teams to understand organizational needs and guide the full executive search process.
  • Facilitate strategic conversations, helping groups stay aligned, focused, and on track throughout the search.
  • Develop organizational and opportunity profiles that reflect client culture, strategy, and leadership needs.
  • Conduct organizational analyses or surveys, when requested, to validate expectations and inform the search direction.
  • Lead research, sourcing, and candidate development to ensure a qualified and diverse pool of executive-level talent.
  • Build trusted relationships with executive candidates and assess cultural, leadership, and technical fit using interviews, assessments, and work samples.
  • Guide client interviews and participate when appropriate to support structure, consistency, and candidate experience.
  • Partner with clients to evaluate and develop competitive and compelling offers, including compensation, benefit, and relocation considerations.

Professional & Technical Recruiting
  • Manage full lifecycle recruitment for professional, technical, and management-level positions with limited supervision.
  • Work directly with hiring leaders to develop proactive sourcing strategies and talent pipelines.
  • Identify and attract candidates using traditional and creative sourcing methods.
  • Screen, evaluate, and present qualified talent for client consideration.
  • Develop written deliverables such as job descriptions, candidate summaries, and interview notes.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and candidates, ensuring strong relationships, transparency, and follow-through.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation within QTI systems.

Business Development & Client Partnership
  • Represent QTI in professional, civic, and community settings to build credibility, visibility, and new business opportunities through active networking.
  • Support new client development by collaborating with sales and marketing teams, following up on leads, and educating clients on QTI services.
  • Cultivate and maintain client and industry relationships to support ongoing and future searches.
  • Identify opportunities to refer clients to other QTI business units.
  • Contribute to team knowledge-sharing and collaboration across the Executive & Professional Search division.
  • In-person presence required for select client engagements, search committee meetings, or candidate interviews, so occasional travel required.
  • Bachelors degree in business, HR, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years professional recruitment experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing communications and expectations of multiple stakeholders, such as Boards of Directors or Search Committees, preferably in a professional or executive search capacity.
  • A track record of personal accountability, strong work ethic, integrity, and proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage client relationships, provide strong client consultative skills and work in a remote-team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build trusted relationships with clients and candidates.
  • Strong professional writing skills, including the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling client-facing materials such as search profiles, candidate summaries, interview guides, and strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to navigate complex or sensitive conversations with diplomacy, clarity, and confidence.
  • Ability to relate to individuals at all levels of an organization, from front line technician up through C-level executive often acting as the public face of an organization.
  • Sales-focused self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills that include the ability to plan and coordinate work independently and balance multiple recruiting projects.
  • Strong customer service, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
