Dick's Sanitation is looking for a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to help lead our team in Lakeville, MN! This role is a developmental position with the goal of promotion into a Fleet Manager position. This is a 1st and 2nd shift position, splitting time equally between 1st and 2nd shift (26 weeks on each shift opposite of their co-supervisor). The 2nd shift involves directly leading the team during daily work orders, preventative maintenance, and all items related to team and equipment. Shift times are approximately 7am-5pm for 1st shift and 1pm-10:30pm for 2nd shift. Responsibilities include ensuring adequate training of mechanics on all shifts, assigning and reviewing repair orders daily using RTA and other tracking methods, providing training and assistance to mechanics on vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair, communicating daily with operations on truck availability and repairs, shadowing and training with the maintenance manager on top shop and compliance programs, promoting collaboration among employees, working with parts clerk to meet technician needs, communicating regularly with District Maintenance Manager and shop personnel, assisting in financial projections and adhering to budget guidelines, performing quality control inspections and fleet inspections with operations team, ensuring adherence to corporate safety program, and helping develop skills necessary for advancement to supervisor or maintenance manager roles. Knowledge and skills required include excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance, ability to motivate staff, excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. Requirements include 3+ years mechanic experience with truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair (waste industry experience desired), ability to train and motivate staff, knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems, proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair, and ability to relocate preferred.
