Job DescriptionAs a Food Safety Auditor you will be responsible for conducting audits on farms and facilities in accordance with both the audit scheme rules and QIMA WQS procedures.
Your main responsibilities includes:
This is a contract position. Preferred candidates will be located in the Pacific Northwest (PNW, specifically Washington/Oregon)
Qualifications
Education And Experience
Mandatory Qualification
- Education in an agricultural/crop-based, food-related subject with a minimum duration of 2 years.
- A minimum of two (02) years of work experience gained after finishing post-high school studies and overall 3 years experience in the agricultural industry.
- In case of a food not Ag-related degree, minimum of four (04) years industry experience in a practical capacity on a farm or in a technical production management role related to fresh produce
Desirable qualification (can be provided by QIMA WQS)
- 16-hour or 02-day HACCP course based on Codex Alimentarius
- Lead Auditor Course with a duration of one week/40 hours or equivalent (ISO 9001 or ISO 22000) or One Day Practical Inspection Course setting out basic principles of inspection
- Food Hygiene Training (min. 8 hours) covering: site management, water, fertilizer, equipment, facilities and personal hygiene, and practical case studies (FSMA Produce Safety Rule training)
- IPM, Plant Protection, Fertilizer, Soil Management (can be part of graduation)
- Experience with GFSI recognized schemes such as PrimusGFS and GLOBALG.A.P. is preferred.
Availability to travel to perform the audits.
