Job Description

Join Lowes Companies, Inc. as a Full-Time Sales Specialist in our Building Materials department. In this role, you will combine your excellent customer service skills with a passion for helping customers tackle their home improvement projects.

As a Sales Specialist, you will greet customers, help them select products, assist in loading merchandise, and ensure every customer’s needs are met across various departments, such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, and Building Materials.

Your Day at Lowes

Throughout your day, you will interact with customers, answer questions, organize merchandise, and support the team by loading or restocking products. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a warm welcome to customers and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Assisting customers in locating and handling merchandise.
  • Restocking items on shelves to ensure availability.
  • Processing orders and deliveries with accuracy.
  • Cross-training in other areas of the store.
  • Preparing merchandise based on customer needs (e.g., tinting paint, cutting pipe, bundling wood).
  • Guiding customers through their shopping experience from start to finish.
  • Completing additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 months of experience using a computer effectively.
  • 6 months of experience with retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
  • Basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including prolonged standing or sitting.
  • Can lift up to 25 lbs unassisted and 25+ lbs with accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months of experience in retail or customer service.
  • Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
  • Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, plumbing, electrical).

Travel Requirements

No travel is required, but occasional travel for meetings or training may be necessary.

Working Conditions

This position may involve indoor and outdoor environments with varying weather and physical demands. Employees are encouraged to follow lifting guidelines and avoid lifts over 75 lbs without assistance.
