Job Description

About Togetherhood

Togetherhood is a fast-growing technology marketplace that connects teaching artists and coaches with schools, buildings and other communities that are seeking out enrichment programming. Our mission is to give every child (regardless of their circumstances) the opportunity to reach their full potential by enabling consistently outstanding education and enrichment. The company was founded by a repeat entrepreneur with a strong track record of success (two acquisitions, one IPO as CPO at Farfetch) and is well-funded by a top tier venture capital firm.

What You'll Do

We are seeking a hands-on engineering leader to build our engineering team and lead the development of our technology platform. This job search is for a Head of Engineering or a CTO, depending on experience. Since this is a start up, everybody contributes directly and the right candidate for this role should be an outstanding coder who is able to lead by example. This person should have a deep passion for building technology platforms and products that are scalable and delight customers. Our tech stack includes a C# backend and React front end. This is an incredible opportunity to join a business with a strong social mission led by a marketplace entrepreneur with a strong track record of success.

In this job, your primary areas of responsibility will be:
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Lead the technical vision and strategy for our enrichment platform, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and values.
    • Stay abreast of technology trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance our marketplace and best serve our customers.
  • Team Management:
    • Build, mentor, and lead a close-knit engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and adaptability.
    • Encourage a startup mindset, where each team member contributes to both strategic discussions and hands-on development.
  • Product Development:
    • Oversee the end-to-end development process, from ideation to deployment, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for our marketplace users.
    • Collaborate closely with product management to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Technology Stack:
    • Assess, select, and implement the appropriate technologies to support the scalability, security, and performance of our platform.
    • Contribute directly to coding, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
  • Agile Project Management:
    • Lead the engineering team in an agile development environment, ensuring efficient project delivery and effective collaboration.
    • Prioritize and manage development sprints based on business priorities.
  • Innovation and Experimentation:
    • Encourage a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
    • Implement strategies for A/B testing and user feedback loops to optimize the platform.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing and sales, to ensure the successful integration of technology and business strategies.
    • Foster partnerships with external educational institutions, content providers, and other stakeholders.
Who you are
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a startup environment, preferably at a marketplace or edtech business.
  • Hands-on experience with full-stack development and proficiency in relevant programming languages (C#, React).
  • Strong understanding of technology trends and the ability to align technical solutions with market needs. A perspective on how generative AI can help propel this business forward.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Motivated by our mission.
If you are a hands-on engineering leader looking to make a significant impact in a rapidly growing company, we invite you to join our team and help shape the future of Togetherhood. Apply now and be part of an exciting journey! Togetherhood
