About the Opportunity :

Join a warm, supportive family in New Smyrna Beach as a Private Duty Nurse to care for our sweet young adult daughter in our home. She is non-verbal, non-ambulatory, with complex needs including seizure monitoring. She’s a joy to care for. We are seeking a compassionate, long-term team member to provide skilled nursing in a quiet, family-oriented environment. This is not a PRN position—we value dedication and consistency.

Responsibilities :

• Provide skilled nursing care, including seizure monitoring and protocols, G-tube medication administration, and vital signs tracking.
• Supportive care to ensure comfort and dignity, addressing needs related to respiratory health, skin integrity and nutrition.
• Operate and maintain equipment, including wheelchair, Hoyer lift, custom bath chair, suction machine, pulse oximeter and respiratory equipment.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) and safe patient transfers.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life.
• Document medical observations and communicate updates to family and healthcare providers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable care environment.

Qualifications :

• Active, unencumbered RN/LPN license in Florida (or valid multi-state license).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience preferred with seizure monitoring, G-tube medication administration, enteral feeds, and respiratory equipment.
• Proficiency with Hoyer lift, wheelchair, and custom bath chair for safe transfers and care.
• Must have the ability to bend over to change her position or clothe her. The job is not appropriate for individuals with physical restrictions.
• Familiarity with complex conditions like seizures, respiratory care and positioning needs strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and documentation.
• Compassionate, reliable, and excellent communicator.
• Willing to undergo a background check.
