General Summary

The Loss Prevention Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving inventory accuracy and operational compliance across Claire’s stores. Responsible for leading all field leaders in this area, the position provides clear direction, accountability, and oversight for our loss prevention strategy. This highly field-based role requires extensive travel to conduct inventory counts, audits, and reviews that safeguard company assets and reinforce operational excellence. By developing field teams and partnering closely with store and corporate leaders, the Loss Prevention Manager ensures consistent execution of inventory accuracy, asset protection, and operational precision across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage, coach, and develop a field-based Loss Prevention team, setting high standards for performance and accountability.
  • Provide direction to field leaders (DMs and RDs) on compliance expectations, cycle count accuracy, and operational standards.
  • Train store and field teams in person during visits, reinforcing best practices for inventory management and compliance.

Strategy & Execution

  • Personally execute cycle counts across the fleet, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and follow-through on variances.
  • Identify root causes of inventory inaccuracies and lead problem-solving efforts to prevent recurrence.
  • Drive compliance with company standards in all aspects of inventory management and loss prevention.
  • Implement programs and initiatives to reduce shrink, fraud, and operational loss.
  • Provide insights, updates, and recommendations to senior leadership regarding LP trends, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Investigations & Case Management

  • Direct and conduct investigations into internal and external theft, fraud, and policy violations.
  • Manage surveillance, detection, and documentation of LP cases, ensuring accurate reporting in case management systems.
  • Partner with law enforcement and external agencies as needed.

Audits & Compliance

  • Conduct and oversee field audits of store operations, inventory accuracy, and cash-handling procedures.
  • Ensure timely corrective action plans are implemented, monitored, and resolved at the root cause level.
  • Analyze Exception-Based Reporting (EBR) data and other analytics to detect risks and address problems head-on.
  • Prepare and present audit findings and compliance updates to Operations, HR, and Executive teams.

Technology & Systems

  • Oversee security systems (CCTV, intrusion, access control, EAS/RFID) and ensure ongoing maintenance and optimization.
  • Leverage reporting tools and analytics to proactively identify and resolve risk trends.

Culture & Engagement

  • Embed a culture of compliance, accountability, and integrity across all field teams.
  • Serve as a hands-on partner to store, field, and corporate leaders, reinforcing that loss prevention, cycle counts, and problem-solving are enablers of operational excellence and customer trust.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of multi-unit retail experience in inventory control, loss prevention, or related field.
  • Proven track record of executing and reconciling physical inventory and cycle counts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
  • Comfortable with extensive travel (up to 75%) to complete inventory counts and audits.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to travel overnight.
  • Comfortable with physical requirements (standing, climbing ladders, lifting boxes, working overhead).
