Position Title:Maintenance Clerk - Janitorial

Department: Facilities

Position Reports to: Facilities Supervisor

Status: Non - Union

Type: Part Time

Schedule: 1pm - 5pm (Monday - Friday)

Position Summary:

Under the Facilities Director supervision, performs custodial maintenance duties including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking.

Responsibilities:

• Dusts and mops floors.
• Vacuum Carpets.
• Cleans restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies.
• Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.
• Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal.
• May change light bulbs as directed.
• Locks doors after cleaning areas.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes workplace safety.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Strip, seal, and wax floors.
• Disinfect waste can using approved disinfectants.
• Clean and disinfect medical and dental rooms with approved disinfectants.
• Perform cleaning of walls, ceiling, floors, doors, light diffusers, AC grills, doors and windows hardware, furniture and equipment.
• Perform deep cleaning of ceramic and vinyl tile floor as necessary.
• Good attention to details.
• Able to follow proper directions.
• Able to attend emergencies upon request.
• Empty recycle cans daily and prepare bins for pick up.
• Keep exterior areas and green spaces clean.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• This position requires: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, minor typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
• Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and 1 to 10 pounds constantly.
• Bilingual Spanish strongly
• Schedule will vary depending on business needs
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule
• Reliable transportation required
• Valid CA Drivers License and auto insurance
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work well as part of a team environment.
