Work Location: Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA
Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is currently hiring a
Maintenance Manager for Aerial Targets , supporting the day-to-day operations of the NAWCWD Target operations at Pt. Mugu and other designated sites. You will assist the Program Manager in the comprehensive spectrum of target operations and maintenance, ensuring efficient, effective, and safe management of aerial target systems. You will also be responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards for our program at the
Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA (and other designated sites). Key Responsibilities in this position are:
- Target Maintenance Management:
- Oversee and coordinate target maintenance actions and track these through a proprietary management system similar to OOMA and Excel
- Apply knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures (NAVAIR 4790 series) to maintain operational readiness and safety.
- Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and publish a monthly maintenance plan encompassing scheduled maintenance, training qualification tracking, and METCAL (Measurement and Calibration) actions.
- Coordinate logistics and transportation, including scheduling vehicles/trucks and managing the movement of targets to various target locations both CONUS and OCONUS (e.g., China Lake, WSMR, PRMF, Tyndall).
- Personnel Supervision:
- Supervise and mentor maintenance personnel, ensuring they adhere to established procedures, safety standards, and performance expectations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities to maintain a skilled and effective team.
- SOP Support:
- Interpret, support, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to aerial operations.
- Contractor, Supply System, and Inventory Management:
- Address and resolve short-term and long-term issues with OEM contractors, the US government, and the Navy Supply system to support new and end-of-service target systems.
- Oversee inventory management of property, including purchasing, asset staging, issue, material kitting, and the maintenance/disposal of hazardous materials.
- Manage shipping functions and ensure compliance with all OSHA/CAL-OSHA requirements for hazardous material management.
Work Conditions: - The working conditions will vary.
- Most of the work will be accomplished in enclosed buildings.
- The role includes approximately 50% sitting, 20% standing, 10% walking, 10% reaching, and 10% lifting.
Requirements
Education/Experience/Skills: - Minimum of High School Diploma with a minimum of 15 years of associated experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Administration, Logistics, or related fields is highly desired.
- Previous documented experience in aircraft maintenance management is required.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
- U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
- All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
- Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
- U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
