The Emergency Preparedness Manager is accountable for the organization's overall planning, organization, direction, coordination and evaluation of emergency preparedness activities and readiness. Responsibilities include but not limited to; financial management, quality improvement, staff education /development, program development, and communication. The incumbent will assure that RRHS maintain a state of preparedness for all emergencies that would impact operations and the organization's ability for RRHS to effectively and efficiently meet organizational goals and responsibilities to the communities and populations served. This individual is responsible to assure RRHS' compliance with all emergency preparedness regulatory requirements outlined by state and federal agencies and to serve as the organization's primary liaison with all organizations and agencies regarding actual emergency events, and emergency preparedness planning and exercises. Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree in Disaster/Emergency Management, Public Safety/Disaster Operations, Public Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum Work Experience 5 years’ experience in large organization emergency preparedness including three years in a leadership role with a proven record of emergency preparedness planning, exercise planning/execution and grant support. Experience in HAZMAT Decontamination and Emergency Response Team management/coordination. Hospital emergency preparedness experience preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications Certification in disaster, hazardous materials decontamination or ICS/HICS training preferred. Valid Driver's License. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to develop and deliver training materials for employees of all levels as well as the community. Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate many simultaneous activities. Professional presentation skills. Proficient Microsoft desktop application skills. Knowledge of the planning, education and exercise requirements associated with the phases of emergency management.
