Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer (Ceramics) with 5+ years of experience to spearhead research and development initiatives focused on enhancing our Vitrified Bonded Diamond and CBN Grinding wheels. This role involves organizing projects, generating reports, and ensuring alignment with the needs of sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams.

Salary Range: $75,000-95,000

Manufacturing Engineer (Ceramics) responsibilities will include:

• Develop and test Vitrified Bond compositions for super abrasive grinding wheels.
• Create innovative products and processes tailored to specific grinding applications.
• Leverage in-depth knowledge of materials chemistry, synthesis, microstructure development, and failure mechanisms to improve material performance.
• Identify root causes of issues, explore improvement opportunities, and implement effective solutions to enhance materials, products, and production processes.
• Conduct hands-on research and development activities in the laboratory setting.
• Provide functional guidance and mentorship to technicians and fellow engineers.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as needed for project success.
• Communicate progress and findings through technical reports, presentations, patents, and publications.
• Maintain organized documentation related to all work performed.
• Develop expertise in raw materials, refractory manufacturing, application techniques, testing methods, products, and competitive landscape.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Ceramics Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in a hands-on role that spans concept development to manufacturing implementation.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a practical problem-solving approach.
