Job description In order to participate to the growth of the Sub - Saharan Africa Business Unit, we are looking for an highly experienced Offshore Specialist Electrician :
Key Responsabilities: - Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on offshore equipment and installations, in compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults on LV/HT equipment, motors, VSDs, control panels, and power systems.
- Maintain and calibrate VSDs and high-tension systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Carry out thermography inspections and analysis for predictive maintenance and early fault detection.
- Propose and implement technical improvements and system optimizations to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are correctly logged in SAP and that equipment history is properly maintained.
- Collaborate with other disciplines (Instrumentation, Mechanical, Automation) to solve complex failures.
- Follow all company and industry HSE standards and procedures; actively participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
- Ensure compliance with international electrical standards and company-specific technical requirements.
- Participate in and support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for recurring or critical failures.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of Reliability-Centered maintenance (RCM) strategies.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and extend equipment life cycles.
- Suggest and implement technical modifications to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and maintainability.
Required Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical maintenance in the Oil & Gas offshore sector.
Certified Electrician Diploma or equivalent trade certification.
Extensive experience with High Voltage (HT) systems and Variable Speed Drives (VSD) (e.g., ABB, Siemens, Schneider, etc.).
Thermography Level 1 or equivalent certification is a plus.
SAP or equivalent certification is a plus.
Valid offshore certificates (BOSIET, HUET, Medical, etc.).
Strong knowledge of IEC standards and offshore safety regulations.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
English proficiency required (spoken and written).
Portuguese is a plus.
Desirable Competencies: Ability to work autonomously and under pressure in offshore conditions.
Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to maintenance and reliability.
Capable of mentoring junior staff and sharing expertise with the team.
Profile The Offshore Specialist Electrician with must have a strong background in Troubleshooting, high-voltage systems (HT), Variable Speed Drives (VSD), and electrical maintenance operations in the Oil & Gas offshore industry.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the ability to propose and implement technical improvements, perform thermographic inspections, and operate within SAP-based maintenance systems.
