GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 4 East Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in geriatric care as well as some stroke cases of all ages. PCT's have the support of Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Interns and Registered Nurses on a daily basis. We operate with a team mentality and enjoy building relationships with our patients throughout their stay (typically a minimum of 3 days). • Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
• Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

Education/Experience Required:

High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES REQUIRED:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred.
