Job Description
Spherion of Madison is hiring for a Policy Analyst position within the Bureau of Benefits Policy in the Division of Medicaid Services in Wisconsin. The role involves developing and implementing policies for Medicaid and BadgerCare Plus programs. The Policy Analyst role is open to WI residents only, includes a benefits package (health, dental, vision, PTO, and paid holidays), and is a long-term contract role. Pay rate will be discussed during the interview process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Policy Analysis: Analyzing proposed policy changes, researching legal and data implications, and developing policy options
- Implementation: Creating plans for policy rollouts, working with technical staff to ensure accurate implementation, and coordinating communications
- Administration: Managing the ongoing administration of benefit areas, responding to complex inquiries, and ensuring policy alignment with other programs
- Expertise: Serving as a content expert on assigned benefit areas, engaging with stakeholders, and coordinating with various staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Two years of relevant policy experience is preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Medicaid systems, healthcare billing, and policy analysis methodologies
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data analysis software, and familiarity with medical coding are required. The position demands the ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
