We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time or part-time Prior Authorization Insurance Associate at Rock Valley Physical Therapy. The Prior Authorization Insurance Specialist is responsible for obtaining insurance pre-authorizations for physical therapy services. This role ensures timely and accurate insurance approvals to support smooth patient scheduling and reimbursement. The specialist works closely with therapists, administrative staff, and insurance providers to verify benefits, submit authorization requests, and follow up as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify insurance benefits for physical therapy services.
Submit prior authorization requests to insurance companies.
Track and follow up on pending authorizations to ensure timely approvals.
Communicate authorization status with clinical and front desk staff.
Document all communication and authorization details accurately in the patient's record.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer requirements and changes.
Qualifications:
Experience in medical billing or insurance authorization preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance guidelines, and HIPAA compliance.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
