Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill fifteen part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Production Assistant position at Oregon State University (OSU).
University Relations & Marketing's newly formed Services and Solutions team provides a wide variety of marketing services, including printing, presort mailing, design, videography, promotional good and event & conference services and hosting to organizations across campus in support of their communication plans. The Production Assistant position will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of this work including, but not limited to, production of dye-sublimation and heat press items, performing hand bindery tasks of printed materials, assisting in warehouse, daily production floor maintenance, stocking of inventory, operation of bindery equipment, assisting with large format graphic production and installation, setting of rooms for events and conferences, AV support for events and packaging.
Position Duties 60% - Production Support Assist staff with a variety of tasks on the printing and mailing production floor. These tasks include operation of heat press equipment, folding, envelope stuffing, operation of bindery equipment, boxing and traying of materials, stocking shelves, pulling orders, assisting in inventory counts, sweeping, breaking down boxes, recycling, etc... at our off campus printing facility.
30% - Event Support Provide backup support for event and conferences including rooms sets(tables, chairs, podiums), gallery sets, assisting in decor set up, janitorial, customer service, registration and check in services, AV support, client support, etc... at The LaSells Stewart Center located on campus.
10% - Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here:
- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications - Must be reliable and punctual
- Must have excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret written and verbal instructions
Preferred (Special) Qualifications - Experience in printing or mailing facility
- Experience with heat press or dye sublimation process
- Experience in event support including room sets and AV support
