About the Job
Brief Summary of Primary Duties: \n - Regular and predictable attendance throughout the shift is an essential function of this position
\n - Inspects/tests coated/uncoated wire for conductor resistance, diameter, and length
\n - Inspects for appropriate cable construction, print, reel size
\n - Measure wire, insulation, and insulation shield to customer standards
\n - Package cable per customer requests
\n - Communicate with departments about quality concerns
\n
\n
Expectations: \n - Abide by all rules and procedures
\n - Treat all employees with respect
\n - Maintain clean work area
\n - Make safety first priority and reports all incidents or issues immediately
\n - Sustain a shop floor environment with operators helping each other
\n - Any/All tasks that are assigned by shift supervisor
\n

Specific Skills/Training Required \n - On shop floor computer training including but not limited to Maximo, SAP
\n - Ability to use hand/power tools, cable cutters and utility knifes to prepare cable ends for testing
\n - Ability to learn to use and troubleshoot electronic, measuring equipment for conductor resistance measurement
\n - Ability to successfully complete a Core skills training including but not limited to Basic Electrical Principles and Safety, Basic Cable Construction
\n - Mathematical skills including understanding decimals, percentages, multiplying, addition, and subtraction
\n - Ability to read and follow SOP's, TI's, CDA's, FOD's, QUA's, DOD's, industry specifications, and customer specifications as resource documents
\n - Forklift Training

Education: \n
Experience: - Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required
\n
Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements: \n - Safety shoes and glasses required when working in the production areas
\n - Hearing Protection required in posted areas
\n - Ability to lift 50 lbs.
\n - Ability to stand 8-12 hours on concrete floors
\n - Cut resistant gloves required when using utility knives
\n - Ability to move reels weighing 500-20,000 lbs. with assistance or reel movers
\n - Ability to stand 8 hours on concrete floor
\n - Ability to bend/stoop to floor level up to 50 times per 8-hour shift
