Job Title R&D Engineer III - Ceramic
Provides engineering support and technical guidance to material, product, and process development programs.
Roles & Responsibilities: - Conduct engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
- Take a major role in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
- Lead individual project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.
- Devise advanced research methods and documents results and procedures.
- Exercise responsibility for multiple pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment.
- Recommend new or upgrades to existing process and test equipment.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company, providing guidance in his or her areas of expertise.
- Promote the company's safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
- Direct the activities of technicians.
- Coordinates pilot-plant or initial production runs on new products or processes.
Job Requirements: Education: - Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering, and at least five years relevant experience.
- Or: Master's degreein Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering, and at least three years relevant experience. Degree in materials science with focus in ceramics highly desired.
- Or: PhD degreein Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering. Degree in materials science with focus in ceramics highly desired.
- Also acceptable general materials science, mechanical engineering, physics.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Hands-on experience in ceramics processing along with data collection, data structuring and analysis strongly desired.
- Hands-on experience in materials processing desired.
- Advanced knowledge of ceramic materials and processing.
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented person necessary.
- Team player with ability to work autonomously and independently manage projects.
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Position Specific Physical Requirements: - Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment in designated areas.
Target Hiring Range Annual Salary: USD 100,020.00 - USD 132,026.00
