Job Summary

The Revenue Manager is responsible for identifying and maximizing all potential revenue opportunities for Wyndham Grand Rio Mar and Wyndham Palmas. This includes the analysis of revenue potential generated by rooms, food & beverage, meeting space, and all other ancillary revenues for both resorts to determine the appropriate mix of business to achieve revenue potential every day of every year.

Education & Experience

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field required; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Education/Experience in Finance, Statistics, Accounting, Economics, Hospitality, or related field, helpful.
  • Must be proficient in Windows, and Microsoft applications such as Excel, Power Point and Word.
  • Understanding of general hotel operations and the philosophy of yield management required.

Physical Requirements

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Fundamental Requirements

  • Prepares weekly commercial strategy weekly scorecards.
  • Facilitate weekly Commercial Strategy meeting following the established agenda.
  • Responsible for leading day-to-day revenue management discipline for both resorts.
  • Monitor the status of the hotel twice a day and adjust inventory/rates through CRS/GDS/PMS.
  • Update, Analyze and Report on Pickup/Change for rolling 12 months.
  • Prepares forecast of rooms for next 90 days as otherwise indicated.
  • Assist with Annual Budget, Annual Strategic Pricing and Market Plan process.
  • Able to sell strategic decisions to gain optimal business mix.
  • Ability to manage upward with good debate and consensus skills with objectivity.
  • Establish and communicate sales strategy for day, week, month and rolling 12 months.
  • Make yield decisions and update CRS/GDS/PMS inventory directly through the systems.
  • Communicate any strategy changes or update any calendars for the sales team to use.
  • Review the Central Reservation System (CRS) Daily Wrap Up, Denials, Call conversion reports,
  • Review availability and allotment calendar for wholesalers.
  • Attends Business Review Meetings with Sales and addresses any revenue opportunities.
  • Review group rooms control log (GRC) as well as pick up report from Property Management System (PMS) for 90 days to verify pick up to actual block, cutoff date, and whether extend, etc.
  • Administer and review all group evaluations from Ideas for Sales Managers.
  • Test calls to (CRO) and property to ensure accuracy of rates, restrictions and selling approach.
  • Analyze the CRO Productivity Report for any necessary action.
  • Work with the strategy team in analyzing performance vs. potential to identify opportunities to include rooms, F&B, meeting space utilization, rooms merchandising, and ancillary revenues.
  • Analyze CRS Reports: Channel, Rate Plan, Company and Travel Agency Production reports.
  • Complete action plans for the property to follow to create additional production/revenue.
  • Analyze the Star Report. For hotels that have a 2-month Revenue Market share decline, provide written update and recovery plan to the Vice President of Revenue Management.
  • Reviews Demand 360 and Hotelligence reports for channel and segment trends.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all rate plans and booking links.
  • Review/Update CRS/GDS Hotel Description information when necessary.
