Job Summary: Perform duties to provide administrative support to school counselors and to maintain student records.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Greet visitors, students, and staff, answer incoming telephone calls for information regarding the school, registration, special events or other topics, provide appropriate assistance or take message and refer to appropriate staff.
2. Assist new students and parents by providing building tours, explaining registration process and completing appropriate documentation.
3. Enroll and schedule new students in student computer system.
4. Input changes to student schedules as requested and update student locator cards accordingly.
5. Maintain enrollment counts and provide reports as needed.
6. Prepare new student registration packets.
7. Prepare files for transferring students and forward to new school.
8. Notify students of changes to bus routes as needed and maintain accurate records of bus assignments in the Student Information System.
9. Coordinate distribution of report cards.
10. Assist in updating course catalog and master schedule. Assist in school registration process.
11. Provide general clerical assistance to school counselors and administrative staff: word processing, report generation, maintains schedules, copying, filing, distribute mail, faxing, or data entry.
12. Use personal computer and general office equipment. Demonstrate proficiency using the technology and computer-based programs provided by the District. Use these programs to effectively manage and organize files, communication, records and databases.
13. Handles special requests with competence and grace.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Office within an elementary, middle, high school

Rate of pay: $19.06-$20.62/hour
