Spring Arbor Senior Living is a leading Senior Living firm dedicated to delivering exceptional value to our clients and partners. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic team and contribute to our continued success in our Springfield,MO office.

As a Senior Property Accountant at Spring Arbor Senior Living, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial activities related to our diverse portfolio of properties. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting & Operations, you will be responsible for managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in property accounting and contribute to the financial growth and stability of our organization.

What You Will Do!

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for assigned properties, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and cash flow projections for review by management and stakeholders.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, escrow funds, and security deposits.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process by providing historical data, analyzing trends, and identifying opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants to facilitate year-end audits and tax filings.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and accounting standards relevant to property management and real estate investment.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to streamline accounting workflows and enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Who We Want!

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance, with a demonstrated progression of increasing responsibility.
  • Proficiency in real estate accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi or Oracle is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and familiarity with real estate industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
