About the Role
The Company is in search of a Senior Vice President, Development to lead its frontline revenue generation efforts. This newly created role is pivotal in overseeing a large team that is responsible for various aspects of fundraising, including general philanthropy, individual giving, institutional giving, prospect research, and donor relations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in contributing to the Society's strategic plans, driving the evolution of fundraising programs, and ensuring progress towards sustainable growth. A key focus for the SVP will be on infusing diversity, equity, and inclusion into all revenue generation activities, in line with the organization's strategic direction. As the SVP, the role involves close partnership with the Chief Development Officer and other senior colleagues, particularly in thought leadership and shared responsibility for achieving fundraising goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar leadership position, with the ability to innovate and build on emergent programs for major and principal gifts. They will also be responsible for refining the organization's fundraising structures, systems, and processes, and for promoting a culture of philanthropy throughout the Society. The position requires a strategic, outcomes-focused approach, and the SVP will be expected to champion consultation, collaboration, and active communication within the organization.
