Northmarq is seeking a Software Engineer in its Bloomington, MN office. At Northmarq, we are a leading commercial real estate firm dedicated to delivering exceptional digital experiences that showcase our expertise in debt & equity, investment sales, loan servicing, and fund management. In this role, you will use your passion for technology to enhance our public website, working closely with the marketing team to improve user experience, create dynamic solutions, enhance communications, and drive increased site traffic. Position Responsibilities:


  • Develop secure, resilient, reliable, maintainable, scalable, and observable client/server web applications using modern frameworks.

  • Write automated unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

  • Revise, update, refactor, and debug existing code.

  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and receiving feedback from peers.

  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to design and implement dynamic features that improve site engagement and traffic.

  • Stay up to date with industry terminology, concepts, and best practices in web development.

  • Provide technical support, identify issues, and communicate resolutions to the team.

  • Occasionally work weekends/nights for maintenance and support activities.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or equivalent education and experience in software development.

  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience as a software developer, including client/server web applications.

  • Strong experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, and preferably Vue.

  • Experience with using git for version control.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

  • Understanding of SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.

  • Nice to have: Experience with Drupal CMS and hosting on Acquia.

  • Experience with DevOps methodologies and tools is a plus.

  • Familiar with Agile methodologies and work item tracking systems such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

  • Ability to work quickly, independently, and collaboratively in a team environment with a focus on delivering high-quality work.

Minnesota Residents: Northmarq carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary range for the Software Engineer position is $95,000.00 to $120,000.00 annually. This range is a good faith estimate and the actual compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
