Underground Utilities Estimator
Position Overview The Underground Utilities Estimator is responsible for estimating the costs and resources required for underground utility projects, including both wet and dry utilities. This role requires a strong understanding of utility systems and the ability to analyze project specifications to provide accurate and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities - Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate cost estimates for underground utility projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating.
- Prepare detailed and itemized estimates for wet and dry utility installations, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather data for accurate estimating.
- Maintain and update databases of previous project costs and industry pricing trends to inform future estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and contracts based on estimates provided.
- Provide support during the bidding process by answering questions from contractors and stakeholders.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating for underground utilities.
- Strong knowledge of wet and dry utility systems and installation practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and clients.
