DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Viral Hepatitis Intern, you will conduct outreach to pediatric offices to identify infants exposed to hepatitis C at birth and provide pediatric practices with resources and information to ensure infants receive proper diagnosis and care. You will also document health information, assist with surveillance and prevention activities, and perform data management and data entry. This role provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in public health, epidemiology, or infectious disease prevention to gain practical experience while supporting the mission of the Pennsylvania Department of Health. In addition, you will attend weekly team meetings, contribute to discussions, and may participate in an emergency assignment to support public health emergency response efforts.
