Our prestigious legal firm is actively seeking a Permanent Litigation Associate with a strong background in handling complex legal disputes. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the legal industry with a strong emphasis on litigation and dispute resolution. This is an exceptional opportunity for those who have an interest in furthering their career in a dynamic and challenging environment. Experience will include commercial litigation as well as insurance defense.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Representing clients in court and before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
2. Managing all phases of litigation from investigation, pleadings, and discovery through the pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal processes.
3. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
4. Drafting and negotiating contracts, dispositions, and agreements; reducing the organization's risk of legal disputes.
5. Conducting legal research and gathering evidence.
6. Ensuring the legality of commercial transactions, advising corporations on their legal rights and duties.
7. Maintaining client relationships and communicating with clients to provide legal advice.
8. Coordinating legal staff and sharing expertise with team members.
9. Performing administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Litigation Associate position should possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation with a reputable law firm.
3. Must be a member in good standing with the state bar.
4. Proficiency in legal case management software.
5. Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
7. Proven experience in client relations, contract review, and contract drafting.
8. Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. High ethical standards and professional integrity.
