Job Description
  • Reviews solicitations for proposals, bids, and contract modifications.
  • Analyzes contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies and business unit procedure.
  • Drafts and negotiates simple contractual instruments commensurate with skills and grade level.
  • Communicates contract policy and practice to internal business teams.
  • Ensures contract review, approval and execution in accordance with corporate and/or business unit guidelines.
  • Prepares and administers routine correspondence, negotiation memoranda, and contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated submittal.
  • Prepares, organizes, and maintains contract records and files documenting contract performance and compliance.
  • May conduct research to support contract audit and or facilitate business unit contracting trends.
  • Performs contract closeout activities. Assists mid- to high-level contract professionals in working with internal or external business teams on issues and developments relative to assigned contracts.

Qualifications

  • Some college with field courses (accounting, marketing, finance, etc.)
  • 3-5 Years experience in contract administration, subcontract administration and/or procurement with an emphasis in a government arena (Federal or State).
  • Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to deal with multiple priorities/tasks.
  • Must be able to work with unexpected changes in priorities and deadlines.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong and effective oral communication, writing, and computer skills are essential.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Working knowledge of contracting concepts (types, terms & requirements), Federal Acquisition Regulations and the Uniform Commercial Code.
  • Understanding of, and experience with the Federal procurement process and regulations (e.g. FAR).
  • Increasing knowledge of law, negotiations, accounting or cost engineering gained through education or experience.
