LHH is partnering with a dynamic manufacturing organization to hire a Cost Accounting Professional in Northeast Ohio.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical individual who thrives at the intersection of finance and operations. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate product costs, supporting planning and shop floor operations, and ensuring the integrity of standard costing across the organization. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally, drive process improvements, and provide financial insights that influence strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Review and analyze material, labor, and overhead variances; provide actionable recommendations.
• Partner with operations and engineering teams to validate production standards and conduct time studies.
• Ensure accuracy of bills of materials (BOM), routing data, and item master records in ERP systems.
• Support monthly close activities, including cost roll-ups, journal entries, and inventory reconciliations.
• Monitor inventory transactions and participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and support new product initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor???s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3???7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, overhead allocation, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and spend time on the shop floor as needed.
• CMA certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
