Role Description This contractor position supports the Natural Resources Management (NRM) Timber Hydro team as field support for PG&E. Responsibilities include inspections, data entry, reporting, project management and GIS data collection. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Field oversight support tasks: Timber cruising and marking, Timber Harvest Plans, compliance with timber sale contracts, Forest Practice Rules, timber harvest permits, federal agency support, 1600 series permits, biological surveys, environmental reviews, GIS spatial data collection, inspection reports, contractor supervision, safety engagements. Timber Cruising: gather tree data, determine volumes and value, record in PG&E database, supervised by a Registered Professional Forester. Timber Marking: mark harvesting units per THP and PG&E rules, use approved paint and flagging, supervised by a Registered Professional Forester. Forest Management, Planning & Oversight: plan, coordinate, oversee Timber Stand Improvement, fuel reduction, tree planting, cone collection, stand assessments, Timber Harvest planning, forest road improvements; support federal agency timber sales; inspect vegetation needs. Crew Oversight: supervise crews performing vegetation control, property management, project execution, safety performance; maintain compliance with laws and permits. Reporting: weekly written reports via email with progress, safety issues, resources used, hours worked; daily database updates; weekly supervisor reports. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Forestry, or related field or equivalent experience. Experience: Mid-level forestry experience (5+ years), inspections, data entry, reporting, project management, timber cruising, and timber marking; GIS basic understanding. Skills: GPS collection device operation, Maps+ and Field Maps proficiency, Microsoft Excel (look‑ups, pivot tables), self‑starter, excellent communication, critical thinking, judgment. Driver’s license, age 21+. Preferred Qualifications ISA certification
