Job Description
Since 1962, Franklin Pierce University has empowered thousands of undergraduate and graduate students to achieve academic excellence and lead meaningful, successful lives. Drawing from our strong foundation in liberal education, we offer majors and programs that develop essential, professional skills; promote close connections between students, faculty members, and staff; and position our students to realize their potential through highly personalized, financially accessible academic offerings.
Franklin Pierce encompasses a far-reaching geographic and virtual network educating a diverse population of residential undergraduates, online learners, and full-time graduate students through our main campus in Rindge, NH, and online and graduate centers in Manchester, and Lebanon, (NH) and Goodyear, AZ. We continue to explore new models and programs that build on our legacy of excellence and help students expand their knowledge, direct their passions, and graduate as qualified, engaged leaders.
We are looking for a Graduate Assistant to work in our Fitzwater Center assisting with Programming and Student Media.
Job Summary:
The graduate assistant is expected to work with the Director of the Fitzwater Center to develop a work schedule that meets the needs of the Center while still respecting the graduate assistant’s educational schedule. This graduate assistantship provides extensive support for the Ravens Sports Network and Fitzwater Productions livestreaming for the NE10 Now Network. This means extensive evening and weekend hours consistent with the athletic scheduling. Additionally, there will be periods—such as for special events like Commencement, the Fitzwater Center Honors, and during The Presidency and The Press summer program—that extended hours will be required, including the possibility of supervising minors in the dorms overnight. This position is also required to be on-site in the radio station during emergencies—such as during weather emergencies or when the governor has declared a state of emergency--to serve as a liaison with Rindge Emergency Services and ensure compliance with the EAS system; the graduate assistant should be prepared to stay in the Center for the duration.
This staff member must be accepted into any of the Franklin Pierce Master Degree Programs prior to being selected as a Graduate Assistant.
