Job Description

Critique and evaluate detailed business, functional, and high-level technical requirements (including recovery, security, and audit). Evaluate detailed technical design components and act as a referral expert in appropriate languages, data structures, vended packages, techniques, and design methods. Design solutions for high-complexity projects. Ensure that design reviews are scheduled and executed. Provide feedback, recommend solutions, and ensure that design standards and documentation are followed. Assist with detailed project estimating and milestone planning. Review and validate the accuracy of estimates and work with project managers on continuous process improvement for estimating. Contribute to determining programming approaches, tools, and techniques that best meet business requirements. Promote and define development standards. Perform coding of complex modules as needed. Ensure project change management approach is followed, and that enhancements are appropriately prioritized, developed, and documented. Act as a technical expert for Band B and Band C level application developers. Ensure code review is conducted, and certify that code meets quality standards. Review and critique code presented by team members. Lead and organize testing reviews. Track and resolve complex defects and assist in planning complex functional and automated tests to support Quality Control. Define and manage processes for support and technical assistance. Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of problems and manage resolution of complex issues. Ensure delivery of change management activities supporting production deployments to Developers, Quality Control Analysts, and Environment Management personnel. Review application configurations. Required Responsibilities Analytical and problem-solving skills applied to a Big Data environment. Experience with large-scale distributed applications. Proven understanding and experience with Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Map/Reduce. Hands-on experience with related open-source platforms and languages (e.g., Java, Linux, Perl/Python/PHP, Chef, Puppet). Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Pentaho). Experience with BI tools and reporting software (e.g., Business Objects). Knowledge of RDBMS, SQL, and NoSQL databases. Experience with agile/scrum methodologies. Prefer experience with Cloudera Hadoop distribution components and custom packages. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience programming on Hadoop. Minimum 4 years of systems development and implementation experience. Experience with Hadoop tasks such as implementation of ETL applications, reporting applications, custom analytics, and data migration. #J-18808-Ljbffr Ideavat Inc
