Party Chief Position Summary/Responsibilities

• Performs surveys using optical and electronic survey instruments including total stations, levels and GPS.
• Detailed documentation of field notes, raw data, photos, survey control used/found/set
• Leave offsets, transfer points, tie backs, and establish control
• Perform advanced data collection functions including translations, rotations, resections, etc.
• Regular maintenance of field files, daily logs, vehicle inventories, maintenance logs, and I.D. Cards, with regular inspections of survey equipment to ensure the accuracy of measurements.
• Provides daily reports and weekly project progress reports with Project Manager
• Responsible for scheduling field runs, crew safety, OSHA Cards
• Take notes, neatly, proficiently
• Familiar with all types and locations of field evidence
• Read and interrupt surveys & maps, plans, etc.
• Determine curb-walk point offsets, baseline and joints
• Construction layout – foundations, footings, access lines, column lines, anchor bolts, parking lot drainage, cut & fill staking

Qualifications

• 5 years minimum experience as a Party Chief
• Proficiency in all aspects of land surveying principles, field procedures, and equipment use
• Perform Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, As-built Surveys, ALTA Surveys, ROW Surveys, Flood Elevation Certificates, control surveys, construction monitoring/quality control surveys, utility location surveys, and property line stakeout surveys.
• Reliable, and eager to work in a fast-paced environment
• Communication skills both orally and in writing, and the ability to coordinate with team members and be a team player
• Be familiar with requirements, types of surveys, techniques, tape, transit, level plum bob, elevation rods, Pole offsets – Prism offsets, Survey Robotics and GPS, etc.
• Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines on time.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License in the state of New York, with a clean driving record, as well as proficiency in basic vehicle maintenance.
