Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles LA as they search for their next Minister to Children and Families. Trinity Baptist Church is a large established congregation that is deeply committed to childrens ministry and discipleship. They are deeply committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through both local and global missions. The church has planted seventy-two churches in Africa and established five within the Lake Area.

This full-time role is dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth of children from birth through fifth grade with a heart for discipleship evangelism and pastoral care. The Minister to Children and Families will lead a caring and committed teamincluding a ministry assistant childrens coordinator Sunday worship team and preschool directorto create a Christ-centered environment where kids can grow in their faith. Responsibilities include guiding children through meaningful teaching and mentorship leading outreach efforts and milestone celebrations and walking alongside parents as they disciple their children at home. This role also provides vital support to children families and volunteers.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Trinity is looking for someone with a strong and growing Christian faith a deep passion for family-oriented discipleship and demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include over five years of experience in childrens ministry and seminary education. The position requires someone capable of creating a nurturing Christ-centered community while strategically planning ministry programs and collaborating with other church ministries particularly the Student Ministry. This minister plays a vital role in integrating children and their families into the life of the church and encouraging lifelong spiritual growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Spiritual Formation: Guides a comprehensive discipleship framework for children and supports spiritual development from birth through adolescence in partnership with the Student Ministry.
• Family Engagement: Equips parents with resources and experiences to foster faith at home; leads milestone events and retreats that strengthen family connections.
• Community Outreach: Leads evangelism efforts and builds relationships that draw families into the life of the church. This includes supervision of the Trinity Kids Preschool.
• Pastoral Care: Offers compassionate support to children families and ministry volunteers through prayer counseling and presence.
• Team & Ministry Oversight: Develops and supports staff and volunteer teams; ensures excellence in ministry planning communication safety and administration.
