The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in performing bariatric surgical procedures, demonstrating a commitment to improving patient health and quality of life. This role requires proficiency in the latest surgical techniques and a strong understanding of the comprehensive care necessary for patients undergoing weight loss surgery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
•    Perform a variety of bariatric surgical procedures, including gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and adjustable gastric banding, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.
•    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nutritionists, psychologists, and primary care providers, to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
•    Conduct pre-operative assessments and consultations to evaluate patient eligibility for bariatric surgery.
•    Provide comprehensive post-operative care, monitoring patients' recovery and addressing any complications that may arise.
•    Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient records and track surgical outcomes.
•    Engage in clinical research to advance the field of bariatrics and improve surgical techniques and patient outcomes.
•    Educate patients on lifestyle changes necessary for successful weight management post-surgery, including nutrition and exercise regimens.
•    Adhere to all regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and safety at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Board certification in General Surgery with specialized training in Bariatric Surgery is required.
•    Proven experience in performing bariatric procedures within a clinical setting is essential.
•    Familiarity with EHR systems and medical imaging technology is preferred.
•    Experience in perioperative care, critical care settings, or relevant specialties such as endocrinology or gastroenterology is advantageous.
•    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding complex medical information.
•    Commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in relevant continuing education courses or workshops.
•    Knowledge of CPT coding and medical terminology is beneficial for accurate documentation and billing processes.
