Research Administrator

Direct Hire

Palo Alto, CA – Hybrid

$75,000 - $85,000

Our client is seeking a professional and polished Research Administrator to join their team directly. In this DIRECT HIRE opportunity, you will be responsible for providing outstanding pre and post-award support to faculty, researchers, lab staff, and department administrators, while also managing a large and complex financial portfolios.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and communicate reports supporting project status
• Manage contract and grant annual reporting, closeout process, and audit inquiries
• Submit final reports and certificates
• Manage and oversee designated awards; advice on spending and commitment activity to ensure appropriate spending according to company policies and guidelines
• Develop, prepare, revise, and finalize project budgets, and provide budget justification
• Serve as liaison and active partner between principal investigators, Office of Sponsored Research, research groups, and other departments; respond to sponsor inquiries; advise of new regulations
• Prepare complex proposals within the parameters of sponsored and non-sponsored research guidelines as needed
• Collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Research to ensure awards are set up properly and cost-sharing requirements are fulfilled; initiate cost transfers

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of directly related work experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• Basic knowledge of governmental regulations
• Ability to review a proposal or manage a project with understanding of the overall scope and goal of each sponsored project
