Security Officer (Unarmed) Meadowbrook (Covington, LA)

Position Overview

The Unarmed Security Guard assigned to the guard shack is responsible for controlling access to the property, monitoring incoming and outgoing traffic, and maintaining a safe and secure environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to follow established security procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Staff and monitor the guard shack at the property entrance.
• Control access by verifying identification, credentials, or authorization.
• Log all visitor, employee, and vehicle entries and exits.
• Issue visitor passes and provide directions as needed.
• Monitor security cameras, radios, and alarm systems.
• Enforce site rules, policies, and procedures.
• Observe and report suspicious activity or safety concerns.
• Communicate incidents clearly to supervisors or emergency personnel.
• Maintain accurate written and electronic reports.
• Provide a professional and courteous presence at all times.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Must either be registered as a Security Officer with LSBPSE, or be able to meet requirements for registration, including:
• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background and fingerprint check with the Louisiana State Police.
• Complete 16 hours of necessary classroom training.
• Must be in good physical condition to complete necessary assignments, which might include walking or standing for extended periods of time.
• Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow, or heat.
• Must have a professional appearance.
• Display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Must have open availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must have a valid drivers license or valid photo ID.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Experience not required but preferred.
