Title: Sr. Scrum Master

Location: Phoenix, AR (3 days onsite)

Overview:

The Senior Scrum Master plays a crucial role in leading Agile teams to success by ensuring that Scrum principles and practices are effectively implemented. This position is vital for fostering an environment where teams can thrive, collaborate, and deliver high-quality products. The Senior Scrum Master not only guides the team in Scrum methodologies but also serves as a mentor, helping team members to develop their skills and remove obstacles that impede progress. They are expected to foster an Agile mindset within the organization and advocate for Agile values while managing the dynamics between different teams and stakeholders. By enabling transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement, the Senior Scrum Master contributes significantly to achieving project goals and enhancing overall productivity. This role is integral to aligning strategic objectives with daily operations and ensuring the team is working efficiently towards shared success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate daily stand-up meetings to foster team collaboration and alignment.
  • Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Coaching team members and stakeholders in Agile methodologies.
  • Resolve impediments that hinder the team's progress.
  • Manage and track team metrics, and provide insights to optimize performance.
  • Define and implement strategies for process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with product owners and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to Scrum practices and Agile principles across teams.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to team members for professional development.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaborations to align project goals.
  • Act as a change agent for Agile transformation initiatives.
  • Identify and address team dynamics that impact productivity.
  • Organize and lead workshops and training sessions on Agile practices.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of Agile initiatives to management.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach and train team members at all levels.
  • Experience in facilitating Agile ceremonies and workshops.
  • Understanding of project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).
  • Experience with conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and best practices.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management.
  • Keen interest in continuous improvement and willingness to adapt.
